On May 19, Krosaki Harima Europe B.V., in collaboration with Bet Ker Oy, hosted a refractory conference for European steel manufacturers. This year, participants joined not only from the Nordic region but from across Europe, with a record attendance of 60 participants.
At the conference, we delivered the following technical presentations:
- Introduction to the K-GenesisX concept and TOUGHMAX™
- Development of castables incorporating an easy-drying powder binder
In the first presentation, we introduced the K-GenesisX concept and, based on this framework, presented TOUGHMAX™ as a solution to stabilize BOF operations and extend refractory service life.
The second presentation focused on the development of castables incorporating an easy-drying powder binder. This technology contributes to improved installation efficiency and enhanced drying processes and attracted attention as a promising new option for addressing on-site challenges.
On the following day, participants visited the SSAB Oxelösund plant, providing a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the company’s transition to electric arc furnace (EAF) processes, as well as its refractory installation practices.
This conference served as a highly valuable opportunity not only to strengthen relationships with our customers but also to generate new insights through the sharing of experiences among participating companies.
