Environmental Declaration

Today, as the destruction of the environment continues on a global scale, in order to leave a beautiful Earth to future generations, as a company that responds to the trust it is given by society, we will endeavor to protect the global environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

In response to the environmental declaration, the environmental policy has been determined as follows:

ENVIRONMENTRAL POLICY

While operating a comprehensive solutions business for refractory materials and ceramics, at all stages of product research and development, design, raw material procurement, manufacturing, service customer use and disposal, we will work to prevent global warming, save resources, recycle, and reduce environmental burdens such by reducing waste and preventing pollution.
We will establish an environmental management system, and all employees will continually work toward reducing the enviromental load and prevent pollution. In addition, with our activities, we will set improvement targets and work on continuously improving.
We will comply with environmental laws and regulations, and agreements with stakeholders.
We will aim to build a relationship between the global environment and human society by contributing to the creation of a richer environment.
We will work to reduce CO2 emissions in order to contribute to carbon neutrality.

Our initiatives so far

1993: Established the Global Environment Conservation Committee and began systematic efforts in the company as a whole.
June 2001: Environmental Declaration
July 2002: Obtained ISO14001 Certification (Yahata Area)
July 2004: Kyushu Refractories Co., Ltd. was added to the certification scope
July 2005: Updated to ISO14001 (2004 version)
November 2008: Created an environmental report

1. Conducting risk assessments of the chemicals we handle
2. Providing ceramic products to the medical field
3. Implementing health promotion measures for employees (household medicines, etc.)
4. Providing customers with products that take the environment into consideration
5. Providing high temperature insulation fiber that is safe to health
6. Selling refractories and equipment that do not adversely affect the working environment
04Quality Education

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all

Our Efforts
1. Promoting education to further employee skills (OJT, OFF-JT, Gaining qualifications, etc.)
2. Visiting schools to raise interest in manufacturing, Tatara ironmaking demonstrations and student factory tours
3. Putting training on refractory kilns and functionality into effect at overseas group companies
4. Donating to universities to contribute towards increasing educational opportunities for students
5. Providing education (using dispatched instructors), as appropriate, to contribute to the career development of female employees and their motivation to work
6. Managing schooling for employees of overseas group companies

1. Giving comprehensive education to combat the different kinds of harassment, including power harassment and sexual harassment
